Barry Keefe Obituary Weymouth MA, In Loving Memory of Barry Keefe

Barry Keefe Obituary, Death – Barry Joseph Keefe, 73, died on April 10, 2023, at his home with his family after a brief illness. He was born on February 8, 1950, in Rutland, Vermont, the fifth of six children to Leo F. and Bernice. Keefe (Shelvey). Kieran Keefe (Caitlin Perry) of Rutland Town; Johanna Keefe (Steve Fuller) of Rutland; Mason Keefe; sister Patricia Loso of Rutland; and brother Kevin Keefe of Rutland survive him.

His parents, wife, Sally (Jenne) Keefe, and siblings Martha Campagne, Norma Dikeman, and Donald “Bundsie” Keefe all predeceased him. Barry grew up in Rutland and attended Rutland High School before graduating in 1968. He continued his education at Vermont Academy and Roanoke College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Barry’s previous jobs included college admissions,

banking, and interior/exterior painting. He was the City Assessor of Rutland for 27 years, retiring in 2021. Barry enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and sharing the majority of his yield with friends and neighbors. He spent a decade traveling throughout Europe with Sally, taking in local art, architecture, and gastronomy. Barry goes south frequently after retirement to see his college pals.

He treasured spending time with his children and grandkids. Barry valued good discussion, having a good time, and living life to the fullest. Calling hours will be held at Clifford Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 25th from 4-7pm. On Wednesday, April 26th, at 11:00 a.m., a Christian Burial Mass will be performed in St. Peter’s Church.
