Ethan Hoger Obituary, Death – On December 5, 2023, Wayne Ruben Hoger, 61, of New Salem, North Dakota, passed away after a courageous fight against West Nile Encephalitis. He was surrounded by his devoted family at the time of his heartbreaking passing. In Fargo, the day was thick with fog, but just before he passed away, Heaven opened its doors and let the sun shine brightly, welcoming Wayne home.
Funeral Services will be held at the Peace Church in New Salem, North Dakota on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., and burial will take place at the Peace Church Cemetery immediately after the ceremony for the deceased. The New Salem Auditorium will be the location of the luncheon that will be served after the burial.
The prayer ceremony will begin at four o’clock on Sunday, December 10, 2023, and visitation will be place from two to four o’clock in the afternoon at Peace Church in New Salem. Instead of sending flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is an organisation that Wayne routinely contributed to and had a close emotional connection to.
Located in Bismarck, North Dakota, Wayne Hoger was the first of five children to be born to Daniel and Ruby Hoger. He was born on June 26, 1962. In the years following his graduation from New Salem High School in 1980, Wayne began performing a variety of manual labour jobs, including those in the construction industry, truck driving, and farm work.
Wayne Hoger first met Diane (Steckler) Hoger, who would later become his wife and lifelong partner, in April of 1985. They began their lives together in Steele, North Dakota, where they had their wedding on July 18, 1986. Here they began their life together. The year 1987 marked the beginning of their family when they relocated to Langdon, North Dakota.
