Shooting In Angola Indiana – Earlier today, around 11 a.m., officers from the Angola Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the law enforcement departments serving Steuben County were sent to a residence in the 600 block of East Gilmore Street in response to a report of gunfire coming from the neighborhood.

The south-facing property was surrounded by law enforcement and emergency services workers, including the Angola Fire Department and the Steuben County Emergency Medical Service, among other emergency services employees. The cops did not divulge the events that took place inside the house. The only information that was provided was that which came from the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County and that which came from police scanners. Both of these pieces of information suggested that there had been a shooting.

Because of what happened, the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County Schools went into lockdown mode. “The Municipal Safety District Administration was informed of a shooting that took place in the town. In accordance with the MSD Safety Protocol, each and every MSD building was placed into lockdown or hold status. After approximately five minutes, the lockdown as well as the hold were lifted after the administration was given the all-clear by the local police.

Parents were informed through email and text message by Chris Hall, the director of safety for the MSD, that their children, as well as all staff members, were safe and that classes had begun as scheduled. Along with law officers and those who work in emergency services, the prosecutor, Jeremy Musser, and his investigator, Pat Reardon, were there at the scene. An officer who was not specifically designated stated that he anticipated that detectives from the Indiana State Police will be involved in the investigation.
