MPD: List of missing people since wildfire down to 10 | News, Sports, Jobs

The Maui Police Department reported Friday that the number of people missing since the Aug. 8 wildfire in Lahaina is now at 10, after one of the people on the list was identified as a victim of the fire earlier this week.

The total only includes people who have had a missing report person report filed with MPD. As of Friday, the missing people were:

• Artur Babkov.

• Akili Shawn Bryant.

• Lydia Coloma.

• Jean Eliason.

• Paul Kasprzycki.

• Michael Misaka.

• Robert H. Owens.

• Dale Ann Richter.

• Lee Rogo.

• Elmer Lee Stevens.

One of the people included on the list last week was 80-year-old Michael Mahnensmith, whom police confirmed Thursday had died in the fire.

So far, 93 of the estimated 98 victims have been publicly identified by police.

Anyone wishing to report a person who is still unaccounted for and not included on the list should contact MPD at (808) 244-6400 or email to file a report.

Those who live on Maui and want to provide a DNA sample as an immediate family member of a person they believe is still unaccounted for should call (808) 270-7771. Those who live on a neighboring island or outside of Hawaii and want to provide a DNA sample should contact the FBI at (808) 566-4300 or visit for instructions.
