Not everyone is feeling merry or bright as we approach the holidays. Instead of the usual celebration of Christmas, churches in Wailuku are offering a Blue Christmas Service at 7 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 21 at Iao United Church of Christ, 2371 W. Vineyard St., Wailuku.
This special service allows all to pause, reflect and remember the past year and to know that they are not alone.
Kahu Wayne Higa will offer a special oli for the evening. Rev. Scott Landis will lead in a time of centering. Father Moki Hino will deliver a key scripture passage.
Rev. Kealahou Alika, Rev. Dr. David Popham, and Rev. Dr. Kimberly Fong will share stories on to focus one’s reflections.
Rev. Robb Kojima will invite all to symbolically pour out any sorrows, regrets and grief as an offering to God who knows and cares Music will be provided by Arlene Pihana and Rev. Jack Belsom.
