Harold Pollard Obituary, Death – On Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his residence, Harold D. Pollard passed away surrounded by his family. His age at the time was eighty years. Harold H. Pollard, the son of the late Harold H. Pollard and Mildred E. (Slater) Pollard and a native of Newton, was born in 1962 and graduated from Sussex High School. He has remained in Sussex throughout his life. A Vietnam War veteran and active member of American Legion Post 301 in Belvidere, he also served in the United States Air Force. Moreover, he distinguished himself in the military.

Harold served as an inspector for Ames Rubber for a duration of thirty years prior to his retirement. His small business was named Pollards Art, and he not only owned a passion for all forms of art but also delighted in creating his own creations. He formerly belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Sussex; however, he has transitioned to the Sussex United Methodist Church as of late. His devoted wife of 54 years, Edith (Lazier) Pollard, his daughter, Tina Pollard of Sussex, son, Harold of Sussex, and nephew, Henry P. Pollard and his wife Josephine of Ohio, sister, Debbie J. Snook and her husband Jeffrey of Branchville, four grandchildren (Alicia Pollard and Frances, Irene, and Jacob Smith), and great-grandson Damian round out his survivors.

A funeral service was conducted at the Pinkel Funeral Home, situated at 31 Bank Street (Route 23) in Sussex, on Tuesday, August 15. The burial subsequently occurred in Clove Cemetery.
